Philosophy of Doxology:
Understanding Our Ultimate Purpose

(The Essence and Experience of Personal and Corporate Worship)

Worship the Lord with gladness” (Psalm 100:2), and "Whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 4:11)

1st Precept of Worship
We believe that love and adoration for God is birthed in the heart by the Spirit, through the centrality of the Scriptures, to awaken a passion for God’s supremacy that is infallibly ascribed to God in His word (2 Cor 3:5-8).

2nd Precept of Worship
We believe vibrant worship begins when faith gazes upon the beauty of God, as it is revealed in the word of God and manifested in the cross-work of Jesus Christ, for the eternal joy of wrath-deserving sinners getting everlasting grace (Romans 10:17, Eph 1:17-20, Heb 12:2).

3rd Precept of Worship
We believe the power of the preached word sets the pace in authentic worship, so that every song sung, every prayer prayed, every praise uttered, and every gift offered might be informed and ignited by the One who deserves our worship Hebrews 4:12-13, Col 3:16-17).

4th Precept of Worship
We believe God-centered, Bible-nourished worship promotes earnest prayer by lifting high the Son of God and laying bare the sin of man to effect deep dependence on God for the joy of the saint and the sanctification of all his faculties (Psalm 19:7-14; Ps 119:1-2, 57-58, 62, 164, 169-173; Jn 12:32, 14:13-14, 21; 1Jn 3:21-23, 5:14-15).

5th Precept of Worship
We believe the Holy Spirit sustains and increases vibrant worship by deepening our love for the cross-work of Jesus Christ and bringing the eternal promises of God into sharper focus (Jn 16:14, Romans 15:13, Heb 9:14, 1Jn 4:2).

6th Precept of Worship
We believe God uniquely enlarges our capacity for worship and rejoices our spirits when suffering requires a depth of consolation only God can supply (Ps 94:19, 2Cor 1:3-9).

7th Precept of Worship
We believe worship flows most freely when love and adoration for God is being expressed in glad obedience to God through other-oriented service (Ps 37:3-4, Ps 100:2; Phil 4:4, 1Jn 5:1-3).

  10. Experiential Preaching

  13. Cheerful Giving
We value giving as an expression of gratitude to God for all of His blessings and as an exercise of faith in God for provisions yet to come (2Cor 8:1-2,Prov 3:9-10).
  14. Other-Worldly Giving
We value every resource, laid out for the glory of Christ on earth, as eternal blessing laid up for us in heaven (Mt 6:19-21, Lk 12:33-34).
  15. The Ultimate Gift
We value God Himself as the supreme gift to us (1 Peter 3:18).
