Our Vision

The Incarnation of Our Purpose and Mission

Vision Statement

Urban Harvest longs to magnify the supreme worth of Jesus Christ, by creating a Cross-centered culture of grace and truth that intersects with the diverse community and impoverished neighborhoods, of downtown North Little Rock, in the reckless joy of gospel-driven worship.

Values of Ecclesiology

Building up the Church in Worship

  1. Plurality of Elders
We value Jesus Christ as the sole Head of His church by appointing a plurality of elders and deacons to govern the affairs of the church and to eliminate any usurping rivals (Acts 14:23, James 5:14, Eph 1:22).
  2. Centrality of the Word
We value the simple, yet profound, act of preaching and teaching to be the vehicle and pace-setter by which God disseminates truth and shapes the life of His church (Jn 17:17, 1Tim 4:13-16, 2 Tim 4:2).
  3. Healthy Transparency
We value driving the power of the preached word more deeply into hearts through a community of “one-anothering” in self-disclosing, transparent small groups (Heb 10:23-25, James 4:6, James 5:16).
  4. Vital Body-Life
We value the fullest use of small groups, through God-centered fellowship and prayer, for building deep relationships and mobilizing organized outreach (Acts 2:42-47, 1Jn 1:1-3, Phil 2:12-16, Heb 13:1-2).
  5. Reflexive Admonition
We value confrontation of the word, through informal church-wide participation in Bible-steeped fellowship, that leads to formal counseling when necessary (Acts 20:20, 20:31; Eph 4:15, Eph 4:25).
  6. Voluntary Discipleship
We value kindred spirits knit together by God in deep relationships, for intentional mentoring, modeled and encouraged by our leaders (Acts 18:26, Phil 2:25, 1 Tim 1:2, Titus 1:4, Titus 2:1-8).
  7. Member Interdependence
We value biblical leadership that does not stifle, but identifies and promotes, the match-making of member’s gifts and ministry opportunities, inside and outside the church (Romans 12:4-13, 1Cor 12:4-12, Eph 4:11-12).
  8. Kingdom Interdependence
We value partnerships with like-minded churches and insights, from Christian leaders of other churches, that uniquely strengthen the body of Jesus Christ in excellent ways (Romans 16:1-5, 1 Cor 16:19, 1Peter 1:1, 2Peter 3:16, 1Jn 4:6, 3 Jn 5-8).
  9. Life-giving Structure
We value doing church in a way that both cherishes church community and protects the family nucleus, without creating a routine that becomes excessive and burdensome (Mt 23:4, Mk 7:9, Lk 10:40-42, Eph 5:22-6:1-4, Col 3:18-21).
  10. Shrewd Stewardship
We value unconventional means when unconventional means may conserve resources and maximize Kingdom investment (Lk 16:8-12).
